American DJ’s grammatical embarrassment

I’ve picked up a few lights for the next wedding reception that I’m DJ-ing and one of them is American DJ’s special effect light, “Mystic” (.mov video file). Well, on the box was a sticker for a FREE replacement lamp, but it wasn’t the free lamp that caught my attention:

American DJ grammatical errors

How many errors do you count?

Three, would be the correct answer. First, it should be “There’s an extra lamp” not “There’s a extra lamp. Second, there should be a single space between “A” and “$20.00″ (there is none). And lastly, the last sentence is missing the word “time” (i.e., “For a limited time only”, not “For a limited only”).

Three errors—two of them huge—went out without being caught.

I’m not saying I’m perfect, but when you’re paying for something like stickers, posters, PR material, packaging, or whatever, you need to spend more time proof-reading your material.

I also picked up a used Rover 250 (.mov video file) for real cheap (display model) and have an eight-par 46 system with dimmer packs, control board, and cranking truss system to make my collection complete. No more renting for me.

That brings my lighting collection up to (sorry, time to geek out now):

I think I’m set for awhile. I’ve got all the audio equipment and the lighting equipment. Just one or two more wedding gigs and everything will have paid for itself in full—and then some.
