Greetings from the brisk getaway Superior Shores. It’s pretty cold and the wind is barreling through with no regard to anything that stands in its way. We almost weren’t sure if we were going to make it up here — my wife was quite ill last night, fighting off some sort of flu bug or something.

For how quiet it is up here, I am surprised we ended up with the forest view instead of a lake view suite. But that’s okay — I know what Lake Superior looks like. Plus, the free WI-FI access is a definite plus. If any hotel wants to remain respectable, free WI-FI should be a standard commodity for their guests.

Natalie’s got a great, little turkey brining in salt water and the pie smells great. Can’t wait to dig in tomorrow. For now we’re just going to take it easy.
